External Relations & Partnerships

The Office of External Relations & Partnerships fosters, supports, and expands the University’s relationships with local, state, and federal government and non-governmental organizations that can strengthen the University in its ability to deliver educational and research programs in support of the University’s mission. From welcoming government representatives to campus to providing information and access, External Relations & Partnerships is the link between the University and our elected representatives.

To be the UNC System’s leading and most effective external relations team.

Strategic Focus Areas

The External Relations and Partnership team delivers impact by:
- Advancing Legislative Priorities: Championing UNC Charlotte’s policy agenda at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Building Strategic Relationships: Cultivating strong connections with elected and appointed officials, key staff, regional and state economic developers, community leaders and stakeholders to amplify the University’s voice in policymaking.
- Cross-Sector Connections: Linking the University with public and private sector partners to unify and elevate the Charlotte region’s future.
- Driving Economic Development: Showcasing UNC Charlotte’s talent pipeline, research excellence, industry collaborations, and place-based initiatives to attract and support business investment.
