Thank you! Faculty and staff came through to shape what's next at UNC Charlotte. Raising over $200,000+ dollars through 1,302 gifts, their contributions helped the #NinerNationGives campaign exceed its $2.49 million goal. On behalf of #NinerNationGives Faculty/Staff Campaign co-chairs Jaclyn Piatak and Patrick Madsen - thank you!

Not only have Champions identified their favorite initiatives to support, but faculty and staff can also help launch the student access and opportunity funds in honor of Chancellor Gaber and Provost Lorden.
Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber Student Success Scholarship Fund
Celebrating Dr. Gaber’s success to date as UNC Charlotte’s fifth Chancellor, the University is establishing the Sharon L. Gaber Student Success Scholarship Fund. This need-based scholarship will open doors of opportunity for students, inspiring the next generation of innovative thinkers and leaders for the Charlotte area and beyond.
Joan F. Lorden Graduate Opportunity Fund
In recognition of Dr. Lorden’s long-standing service and outstanding contributions, individuals within and beyond the University are working to establish the Joan Lorden Graduate Fellowship as she retires later this year after over 19 years of service. The fellowship will be available to students undertaking any course of graduate study who have demonstrated financial need and academic excellence. The UNC Charlotte Foundation has offered a dollar-per-dollar match for contributions up to $25,000.
"These two new funds which uplift students are appropriately named for two women truly dedicated to the cause. As a UNC Charlotte graduate student, I was the beneficiary of an assistantship that gave me access to graduate school and set my course for a career in public higher education. My gift to these funds is meaningful to me because I can support students as I was supported and recognize two remarkable women. That’s a win/win!"Dr. Susan B.
